Patience Esther Mageza

Auditor and Trainer

Patience Esther Mageza is a Food Scientist, Nutritionist, and Food Safety Professional with extensive experience across public health nutrition, food manufacturing, and the hospitality health and wellness sector. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Food Science and Nutrition from Midlands State University, Zimbabwe, and brings a strong multidisciplinary approach to safeguarding Food Quality, Food Safety, and consumer well-being.

Her career began in Zimbabwe within international non‑governmental organizations, where she worked on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) programmes and initiatives focused on the first 1,000 days of life. This experience in community nutrition, maternal and child health, and public health interventions laid a strong foundation for her commitment to improving human health through safe and nutritious food systems. She is also a published researcher, with her work “Case Study of Male Partner Involvement on Initiation and Sustainment of Exclusive Breastfeeding Among Women” published in 2018 in the International Journal of Current Research and Academic Review (link).

She later transitioned into the food manufacturing sector, gaining progressive experience in laboratory operations, Senior Quality Control, and Senior Quality Leadership within the dairy industry. During this time, she was actively involved in product development, supplier engagement, laboratory management, and the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP-based Food Safety systems, strengthening her technical expertise in regulated production environments. She has also attained key professional certifications in Food Safety and Food Quality, supporting her ability to lead audits, implement food safety management systems, and ensure operational excellence.

Her career further evolved in the Middle East, where she worked within a luxury health and wellness resort in Qatar. In this role, she contributed to the implementation and maintenance of Food Safety Management Systems aligned with ISO 22000:2018 and FSSC 22000 Version 6, conducting internal audits, delivering staff training, managing Food Safety risks, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Currently, she works as a Food Safety Consultant, Auditor, and Trainer, supporting food businesses and resorts through audits, consultancy, training, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on Food Safety culture, operational excellence, and consumer protection.
